Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon was recently robbed at her Khar residence, where a significant amount of cash and jewelry were stolen. The total stolen items included a diamond earring worth Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and 500 US dollars (approximately Rs. 42,923). The culprit behind the theft was identified as Sameer Ansari, a 37-year-old man who was part of a painting crew hired to work at her house.
Poonam Dhillon, who mostly lives with her son Anmol in Juhu, occasionally stays at her Khar residence. The theft took place during the festive season, between December 28 and January 5, when the painting crew worked at her home.
Ansari noticed that a cupboard in the house was left unlocked, and he took the opportunity to steal the valuable items inside. After committing the crime, he reportedly spent Rs. 9,000 hosting a party for his colleagues from the painting team.
The theft was discovered on January 5 when Poonam Dhillon’s son, Anmol, returned from Dubai. Upon noticing the missing items, Anmol immediately contacted his mother. After talking with the domestic staff, Poonam’s manager filed a police report, which led to an investigation.
When the police questioned the members of the painting crew, Ansari admitted to the crime, which led to his arrest. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
Poonam Dhillon has had a successful career in Bollywood, starring in numerous films like Samundar, Dard, Teri Meherbaniyan, and Ramaiya Vastavaiya. She also made her debut in the OTT space in 2021 with the series Dil Bekaraar on Disney+ Hotstar. Despite the recent robbery incident, she remains a respected and versatile actress in the industry.
