Vijay Varma starts shooting for Amazon Prime's original series 'Matka King'

This game takes the city by storm, democratizing a terrain previously reserved for the rich and elite.

Bollywood's versatile actor Vijay Varma has finally begun work on his much talked about series 'Matka King', which is going to stream on Prime Video.

Prime Video announced the commencement of filming for its upcoming crime thriller, 'Matka King.'

'Matka King' is a fictional tale set in 1960s Mumbai, where an enterprising cotton trader who craves legitimacy and respect starts a new gambling game dubbed as ‘Matka’.

Produced by multiple National Award winners Siddharth Roy Kapur and Nagraj Manjule along with Gargi Kulkarni, Ashish Aryan, and Ashwini Sidwani, under the banner of Roy Kapur Films, the series is directed by Nagraj Manjule and written by Abhay Koranne, along with Manjule.

Currently in production, the series will be available to Prime members in over 240 countries and territories upon its release.
