The Bads of Bollywood has undoubtedly marked a sea change for Rajat Bedi. After years away from the limelight, the actor has suddenly found himself back in conversations, winning over audiences and critics alike.
His role as Jaraj Saxena in Aryan Khan’s Netflix debut has reignited interest in his career, and the impact is clear — he has soared from 954th to ninth place on IMDb India’s popularity rankings.
The series, which dropped on 18 September, marked both Rajat’s digital debut and his long-awaited return to Hindi entertainment. IMDb credited his massive leap directly to his performance, which has been praised for its conviction and charisma.

The platform even spotlighted his rise alongside Aryan Khan’s own impressive climb — the young filmmaker jumped from 87th to sixth position following the success of his directorial debut.
Grateful for the recognition, Rajat took to Instagram to share a heartfelt behind-the-scenes picture with Aryan. Hugging the debutant director warmly, he captioned it: “When God sends you an angel, this is what he looks like.”

The post captured not just admiration for Aryan but also the relief and gratitude of an actor finally getting his due.
The Bads of Bollywood itself has struck a chord with audiences. A story of a charismatic outsider navigating the glamour and cut-throat reality of the film industry, it features a strong ensemble cast — Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Raghav Juyal, Gautami Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh and Anya Singh — with cameos from some of Bollywood’s biggest names, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Karan Johar.
For Rajat, the success feels especially sweet. He has previously spoken of the disappointment he faced after Koi… Mil Gaya, recalling how his scenes with Preity Zinta were cut from the final edit and how he was left out of promotions. “My biggest disappointment was that when the film was released, I was completely cut out from the promotions… as an actor, you have certain expectations,” he had admitted.
