Among the diverse range of web shows available, including romance, mystery, and slice-of-life genres, gritty investigative thrillers have become a favorite among web show creators and viewers. The complex motivations and morally ambiguous actions of criminals offer rich material and fodder for writers. These elements allow them to craft unique stories that result in gripping crime thrillers that keep us hooked.

Here are some upcoming investigative drama web-series we are excited to watch on OTT platforms.

1. Paatal Lok 2

The sequel to the much-loved series, ‘Pataal Lok’ is all set to make a comeback on Prime Video, this year. The synopsis of the sequel teases - Two seemingly disconnected cases that bring Hathiram and Ansari together again, leading them into a complex conspiracy. Jaideep Ahlawat reprises his role as Hathi Ram Chaudhary, promising more intense drama and suspense. Along with him, Abhishek Banerjee and Tilotamma Shoma will also be seen in season 2.

2. Pill

Riteish Deshmukh is all set to make his OTT web series debut with 'Pill', that sheds light on the dark side of the pharmaceutical industry. The show will be streaming exclusively on JioCinema Premium from July 12. Riteish will be seen in the role of a whistleblower in 'Pill', who navigates his way, fighting against the evil forces in the pharmaceutical industry, and uplifting the fundamental right to good health for all.

3. The Family Man Season 3

Manoj Bajpayee's much-loved drama, ‘The Family Man’ is gearing up for the third season, after two successful outings. The upcoming season will pick up from where the previous one ended, and will be focusing on a new challenge. It will be available on Prime Video.

4. Delhi Crime Season 3

Starring Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, and Rajesh Tailang, ‘Delhi Crime’ has been renewed for a third season by Netflix. The new storyline will delve into another gripping investigation by the Delhi Police, promising to be as captivating as its predecessors. This critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning series remains a must-watch for all investigative thriller enthusiasts.

5. Daldal

Directed by Amrit Raj Gupta and based on the book ‘Bhendi Bazaar’, Daldal will mark Bhumi Pednekar’s OTT debut. Currently in the filming stage, the show delves into the story of newly-appointed DCP Rita Ferreira, who is appointed to investigate a series of murders. The show will be released on Prime Video.
