“Mai 9 saal apne bete ke liye ladi. Yaha kamaati thi Bombay mein, fir bhaag gayi Delhi court,” she recalled. (I fought for my son for 9 years. I used to earn here in Bombay, then ran to the Delhi court.)

Kunickaa Sadanand added how her son’s words finally made her step back. “Fir usne mujhe ek din bola ‘Mumma please aap dono me se koi toh give up karo, vrna meri padhai ek dam kharab ho jayegi.’ Tab maine bola ki mai nahi ladungi,” she shared. (Then one day he told me, ‘Mumma, please, one of you has to give up, otherwise my studies will be completely ruined.’ That’s when I said, I will not fight.)
