The release of the song Dabidi Dibidi from the upcoming Telugu film Daaku Maharaaj, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, has sparked intense reactions online. While the song showcases high-energy choreography and vibrant visuals, it has quickly become the subject of criticism, with many netizens condemning the "vulgar" choreography and the inappropriate pairing of the lead actors.

The song, composed by Thaman S, a renowned music director famous for his catchy and upbeat compositions, has drawn both praise and backlash, particularly from social media users.
The music video features Balakrishna performing dynamic, high-energy dance moves alongside Urvashi Rautela. The pairing of the two actors, however, has drawn the ire of many fans.

A social media user shared a clip from the song, questioning the appropriateness of the choreography. "What on earth did I just watch? A grown man dancing so inappropriately with someone who could be his daughter?" the user posted.

This comment reflects a growing sentiment that the age gap between the two stars makes the dance moves appear uncomfortable and out of place.

The user continued, "Who even comes up with such 'genius' choreography, and why did the hero agree to this? Absolutely disgusting."

The criticism wasn't limited to the choreography alone; the cultural implications of the song's visuals also attracted negative attention. A user on X (formerly Twitter) expressed their dismay, stating, "What a culture Sir. Only Bollywood makes cheap vulgar songs Sir."

This statement criticizes the perceived degradation of cultural values in the song, drawing a comparison between Telugu cinema and Bollywood, where similar complaints about vulgarity in music videos are often raised.

Further criticism came from another user who slammed the choreography as being outdated. "#DabidiDibidi worst song and choreography elanti lucha steps 80s lo kuda veyyaledu (Even in the 80s, such lousy steps weren’t done)," the user wrote. The phrase "lucha" refers to crude or inappropriate behavior, which highlights the disapproval of the song's dance steps and overall aesthetic. This critique draws attention to the fact that some viewers feel the choreography feels outdated or out of sync with current trends.

A third user summed up the collective frustration, calling the song the "worst" they had ever encountered. "What's with the obsession with #NandamuriBalakrishna's #Dabididibidi, it's the worst song I've ever heard," they posted. This negative response illustrates how the song, despite its high-budget production, has failed to meet the expectations of a significant portion of the audience.

While there are fans who enjoy the energy of the song and its bold visual style, these vocal criticisms highlight a broader issue of how such content is perceived by the audience. In an era of rapidly changing cultural sensibilities, the clash between traditional expectations and modern entertainment trends often leads to strong reactions, especially when the portrayal of male-female relationships or the use of certain dance moves is seen as inappropriate.

Daaku Maharaaj, set to release on January 12, 2025, stars Bobby Deol as the antagonist, alongside a diverse cast that includes Urvashi Rautela, Chandini Chowdhary, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath.

Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film's music, composed by Thaman S, was intended to add a layer of excitement to the film’s narrative. However, with the song’s release, Dabidi Dibidi has already sparked a debate about the evolving standards of dance choreography and its impact on the image of the stars involved. Whether these criticisms will influence the film’s reception or the popularity of the song remains to be seen.
