Following the unveiling of the Ramayana Part 1 introduction teaser on July 3, fans were left in awe by the film’s grand scale, featuring breathtaking VFX and fierce portrayals of Ram and Ravana by Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.

But alongside the visuals, what truly captivated audiences was the thunderous musical score—crafted by none other than AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

The two international music icons are working together for the first time ever.

Famous for his epic and emotionally charged music, Hans Zimmer has composed the soundtracks to classic films such as The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, The Lion King, Interstellar, and Gladiator. His collaboration with AR Rahman on Ramayana gives what is already being praised as one of Indian cinema's most ambitious projects an additional noteworthy dimension.

AR Rahman also shared a bts photo with Hans on Instagram and wrote, "With @hanszimmer #ramayanamovie."

Fans praised AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer's incredible collaboration and hailed their music as a standout highlight of the film on social media after the teaser was released on Thursday.

One fan wrote, “Hans Zimmer you beauty! Without any shots, The music itself was pure goosebumps. All time blockbuster loading!” While another user pointed out, “Ramayana BGM by legendary Hans Zimmer. Looks so peaceful & beautiful goes with the theme of this epic so well.” One of the comments read, “Lord Hans Zimmer literally cooked with this OST (fire emoticons) It's the best thing about this glimpse along with visuals. Ramayana looks promising so far.”

The deep, spiritual depth of Hans Zimmer's Interstellar score is frequently recalled; this tone fits in perfectly with the Ramayana's emotional and mythological scope. Now that A.R. Rahman's rich Indian classical influence and Zimmer's expansive cinematic sound are combining, the movie's soundtrack is ready to hit a universal chord and connect with viewers everywhere.

This landmark collaboration between Rahman and Zimmer promises a soundtrack that not only bridges Eastern and Western musical traditions but also has the potential to redefine the sonic landscape of Indian epic cinema.

The cosmic trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva is introduced in the teaser, which sets the stage for the epic conflict between Lord Rama and Ravana. The cast is outstanding, with Yash playing Ravana, Sai Pallavi playing Sita, and Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama. Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman complete a strong ensemble for what is destined to be a monumental cinematic experience, contributing to the mythological gravitas.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Mind Creations, Ramayana will release in two parts — releasing on Diwali 2026 and 2027.
