Netflix's animated movie, KPop Demon Hunters, continues to break a new record every day. The film’s huge hit single, Golden, from the original soundtrack, has topped the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the fifth week in a row.
The chart, which was released on Friday, showed Golden at the top for the fourth week in a row. On August 1st, it debuted at the top of the chart.
Korean American singer Audrey Nuna, South Korean-born American artist Rei Ami, and composer Ejae, who received training at SM Entertainment, performed the song by the movie's fictional girl group Huntr/x.
The song is the first K-pop single to top the charts in 13 years, since Psy's ‘Gangnam Style’ peaked at number one in 2012. Earlier this week, Golden also topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Soda Pop and Your Idol, two more soundtrack tracks, came in fifth and eighth place on the British chart, respectively. Meanwhile, another track, Takedown, bagged the 24th spot.
The animated movie is now officially the most-watched film ever on Netflix. Since its June 20 release, the movie has registered 236 million views, more than the previous record-holder, the action-comedy Red Notice, which had 230.9 million views, according to Netflix.
