Netflix has left the K-drama enthusiasts excited with the announcement of a new original series titled Variety. The series will star Son Ye Jin and Jo Yu Ri in leading roles.
Director and writer Kim Yong Hoon, known for Netflix’s Mask Girl and the film Beasts Clawing at Straws, will create the series.
The official social media account of Netflix Korea shared a series of photos of Son Ye Jin and Jo Yu Ri with filmmaker Kim Yong Hoon. The pics were accompanied by the announcement that reads, “Star makers, star chasers, and the varied desires surrounding them.”
However, Son Ye Jin will play the role of Sae Eun, a brilliant planner who does not hesitate to make ruthless decisions to achieve her goals. In a final attempt to keep the idol group she created, she puts everything on the line.
Meanwhile, Squid Game fame actress Jo Yu Ri will portray Seung Hee, an overzealous fan who stops at nothing to get close to her favourite idol.
However, further cast details of the new K-drama have currently been kept under wraps.
Meanwhile, Variety will revolve around the connected goals of Sae Eun, the influential leader of South Korea’s top entertainment agency and the creator of its leading idol group, and Seung Hee, an avid fan who follows the group's every step.
