The Akkineni family — Nagarjuna, Amala, Naga Chaitanya, and Sobhita Dhulipala — recently had the honour of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to present him with a book dedicated to the legendary actor and film producer, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

This special meeting, held at Parliament House, was a moment of immense pride for the family, as they were able to honour the immense contribution ANR made to the Indian film industry.

The family, deeply moved by the occasion, expressed their gratitude in a heartfelt post shared by Nagarjuna.

In his message, Nagarjuna acknowledged the significance of the gesture and how much it meant to the Akkineni family to have ANR’s cinematic legacy recognised by such an influential figure. The family was also appreciative of the opportunity to share their father’s story and celebrated how his work continues to inspire generations of filmmakers and movie lovers alike.

This meeting not only marked a personal milestone for the Akkineni family but also served as a powerful reminder of ANR’s lasting impact on Indian cinema.

Later in the day, Nagarjuna posted a photo from the meeting along with a thoughtful note, which read: "Profoundly thankful to Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for today's meeting at Parliament House. It was an honour to present 'Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktitva' by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, a tribute to my father ANR garu's cinematic heritage. Your recognition of his life’s work is a treasured affirmation for our family, fans and the Indian movie lovers. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity. #ANRLegacy #IndianCinema #ANRLivesOn"


Sobhita Dhulipala also shared some pictures from the meeting, The Night Manager actor also gifted a dancing doll to PM Modi.

She continued, "PS : Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore kondapalli bommalu (dancing dolls), their memories trace back to my childhood years in my grandparents’ home in Tenali. So happy to be able to gift him one, and to find that he knows all about this old handicraft and its nativity to Andhra Pradesh"

In the picture shared by Nagarjuna, both he and Naga Chaitanya were dressed in dark bandhgalas, exuding elegance, while Sobhita Dhulipala looked radiant in a cream saree with a golden border. Amala, too, looked graceful in a soft pink saree, adding to the charm of the moment.

On the professional front, Nagarjuna was last seen in the 2024 release Naa Saami Ranga, while his son, Naga Chaitanya, is currently starring in the drama Thandel, alongside Sai Pallavi. The film, which was released on February 7, 2025, has garnered attention from audiences.
