A Mumbai police officer spotted near the residence of popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, clarified on Tuesday that his presence was purely for security purposes. Dismissing any speculation, the officer stated, “It’s my duty to conduct routine rounds. I didn’t visit his residence, nor did I issue any notice to anyone.”
The police officer further explained that as the beat master, it was his responsibility to conduct routine rounds in the area, including a visit in the morning. He emphasized that he had no orders to investigate anything related to Ranveer Allahbadia. Earlier, he had also stated that there was no specific information regarding the situation and reiterated that their presence was solely for security purposes.
Amid the controversy surrounding YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s inappropriate remarks on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, the Mumbai Police have summoned both Ranveer and the show’s host, Samay Raina, for questioning. While Raina’s lawyer requested an extension for his appearance, the authorities denied the plea and instructed him to present himself at the earliest.
Reports indicate that the show follows an unscripted format where participants engage in casual conversations. As part of the investigation, police have already recorded statements from six individuals.
The controversy erupted after a viral clip from the show featured Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as ‘Beer Biceps,’ making a controversial comment during an interaction with a contestant. In the video, he posed an inappropriate question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” The remark sparked massive backlash, leading to widespread outrage against the show and its panelists.
After the controversial clip from the episode went viral on Monday, multiple complaints were lodged against Ranveer Allahbadia and other hosts of the show for making obscene and vulgar remarks. In response to the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology.
The controversy drew sharp criticism from political leaders, influencers, and actors, who condemned the remarks as “crass and irresponsible.” The outrage led to further action, with YouTube India taking down the episode of Samay Raina’s show, which was originally available only to members. The removal came following a directive from the Indian government, intensifying the debate over content moderation and accountability on digital platforms.
