Vijay Deverakonda wants to slap Aurangzeb

Actor Vijay Deverakonda was the guest of honour at the pre-release event for Suriya’s upcoming film Retro, held over the weekend in Hyderabad. Vijay made some frank and scathing comments during the exciting evening that caught everyone's attention.

The Arjun Reddy actor shared his emotions after watching the recent hit film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna.

When anchor Suma asked Vijay if he would like to go back in time to meet someone, the actor chose a bold approach. He replied, “I want to meet the British and give them two tight slaps. I recently watched Chhaava, and it enraged me. I’d probably take the opportunity to give Aurangzeb two to three tight slaps also. I want to meet so many others like that, just to hit them. Right now, it’s all I can think of.”

His passionate response drew amused reactions from the audience, including Suriya, who was also asked the same question. The Jai Bhim actor responded more serenely, saying he “doesn’t miss anyone”, so he “doesn’t know” whom he would choose to meet.

When Vijay was asked if he could go back in time and work with famous actresses like Sridevi, Ramya Krishnan, or Vijayashanti, the topic of conversation became more light-hearted. Charmingly, Vijay acknowledged that he would have liked to collaborate with Simran, Sonali Bendre, or even Jyotika, though he was hesitant to bring up the latter because she is Suriya's wife.

Regarding his career, Vijay most recently starred with Mrunal Thakur in The Family Star (2024). The movie received mixed reviews when it first came out, despite the high expectations. Nonetheless, audiences embraced his brief appearance as Arjuna in Kalki 2898 AD. In addition to working on an untitled project with Rahul Sankrithyan, he is currently filming Kingdom, which is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.

Meanwhile, Chhaava has shattered several records and overtaken Stree 2 to become the seventh highest-grossing film at the box office.
