"Aadujeevitham" or "The Goat Life," featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran, stormed the box office upon its theatrical release this March, smashing numerous records in Indian cinema. Directed by the renowned Blessy, the film quickly ascended to become one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of 2024. Now, eagerly anticipated by fans, the film is poised to make its digital debut on OTT platforms.
Netflix India recently unveiled that "The Goat Life" will start streaming from July 19. The film will be available in multiple languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Netflix teased the release with a striking poster showcasing Prithviraj Sukumaran in a gritty role, accompanied by the caption, "Pradheekshayum porattavum niranja Najeebinde jeevitha katha. #Aadujeevitham is coming to Netflix on 19th July in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi! #AadujeevithamOnNetflix.”
Adapted from Benyamin's acclaimed 2008 novel, the Malayalam film narrates the poignant story of Najeeb, a Malayali migrant laborer ensnared in servitude as a goat herder on a secluded Saudi Arabian farm. In earlier interviews, Prithviraj shared insights into his approach to portraying Najeeb, revealing that he had not directly interacted with the real-life figure (Shukoor) prior to assuming the role.
When asked about the potential impact of such an interaction on his performance and understanding of the character's psyche, Blessy explained to Pinkvilla that his conversations with Najeeb primarily focused on emotional responses rather than detailed narratives.
