Famous Punjabi singer Mika Singh recently revealed his long-standing friendship with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, whose heart-pounding songs have become a mainstay at weddings and parties.

Speaking in an interview with Shubankar Mishra, Mika described a hilarious episode that fans are currently enjoying and talked about the special bond he has with the actor.

Salman Khan is well-known for his generosity and extravagant demeanour, but he is also notorious for maintaining rather odd schedules. According to Mika, the actor frequently makes calls in the middle of the night, and missing them could cause your friendship to suffer. “He loves calling people at 2:30 am, and if you don't pick up his call, he will say 'ab esa ho gya,’” Mika revealed, implying that Salman doesn’t take kindly to being ignored during his preferred late-night catch-ups.

The singer also talked about how he almost missed out on one of his best-known songs, "Jumme Ki Raat," from the movie Kick. Salman Khan, who was filming the movie at the time, called Mika late at night as usual.

“I was in Bali, and I got a call from him at night. He tells me that he wants to sing the song ‘Hangover’, and he starts singing the song on the phone. I thought he sang very well, being Salman Khan because actors usually don’t sing well,” Mika shared.

However, the final decision came down to feedback from within Khan’s family. As Mika recalled in another interview with The Lallantop, “When Salman asked his nephew for the feedback, he stated that Khan’s version was more of a shouting, but Mika’s version was soothing, and fit better for the song.” Thanks to that candid assessment, Mika’s version made it to the final cut—eventually becoming one of the most-played tracks at celebrations.

This humorous yet illuminating exchange once again demonstrated Salman Khan's eccentricities and the enjoyable rapport he has with those who are close to him, particularly Mika, who is all too familiar with his timing and temperament.
