Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino is slowly but steadily making its mark at the Indian box office. With 12 days under its belt, the film has netted Rs 44.58 crores domestically, and when you include GST, the gross collection goes up to Rs 52.60 crores. That puts it within striking distance of the 50-crore net milestone, a benchmark that would mark its clean success, especially given its moderate budget.
Backed by T-Series and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Metro In Dino is a musical drama featuring four interconnected modern-day love stories. The film stars a packed ensemble of big names—Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and more. Its urban storytelling, coupled with a strong emotional core, seems to be resonating with audiences in key metro cities.
Kamal Gianchandani from PVR INOX noted that the film has been showing “remarkable consistency” and is benefiting from a renewed interest in content-driven cinema. With audience footfalls growing and positive word-of-mouth spreading, it’s one of those films that might not explode on day one but keeps building momentum as reported by HT.

Day-wise, the film pulled in Rs 1.29 crores on Monday (Day 11), followed by a stronger Rs 1.7 crores on Tuesday (Day 12), thanks to discounted ticket pricing. That’s a 31% jump—proof that pricing strategy and content both matter. The weekday traction also suggests that the film isn’t just surviving the second week, it’s managing to grow—always a promising sign.
Hindustan Times suggests that the movie has already recovered its costs via music, digital, and satellite rights. So while financial success is technically already achieved, this upcoming box office milestone would solidify its position as a theatrical success too.
If current trends continue, Metro In Dino could easily cross Rs 50 crores net in the next few days and cement its spot as one of the unexpected hits of 2025. For a film that didn’t rely on big-ticket spectacle or franchise familiarity, that’s no small feat. It’s a reminder that urban, emotionally grounded stories still have a strong place in Indian cinema.
