Metro… In Dino, Anurag Basu's most recent film, is still doing well at the Indian box office. With an estimated Sunday collection of Rs 6.25 crore, the romantic drama with an ensemble cast ended its first weekend strongly, bringing its three-day total to Rs 15.75 crore nett.
The movie started off modestly on Friday with ₹3.5 crore, but on Saturday it saw a remarkable 71.43% increase to Rs 6 crore. Earnings on Sunday increased marginally, solidifying its place as one of the current multiplex favourites.
According to box office tracking platform Sacnilk, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 39.91% on July 6, 2025. The day started with a morning show occupancy of 15.98%, which climbed to 46.62% in the afternoon and peaked at 57.14% during the evening shows. These numbers reflect growing interest, especially among urban audiences seeking mature, character-driven narratives.
Metro... Dino seems to be doing noticeably better than its spiritual predecessor, Life. On May 11, 2007, In A Metro was released. With a relatively weak start, the previous movie made ₹0.80 crore on its first day, ₹1.23 crore on its second, and ₹1.45 crore on its third, for a total weekend earnings of only ₹3.48 crore. The 2025 release, on the other hand, has already exceeded that mark on its first day of release and has kept up its momentum throughout the weekend.

Metro… In Dino is positioning itself as a box office success with the help of important multiplex circuits and strong word-of-mouth promotion.
Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Anupam Kher are among the film's diverse cast members. Anurag Basu's sensitive storytelling has also helped the film connect with viewers who value complex emotional narratives.
The movie's long-term prospects will be greatly influenced by how well it does during the week. But the upward trend indicates that Metro In Dino, in the upcoming weeks, might continue to perform well.
