Megastar Chiranjeevi is being criticised for his 'sexist' remarks made at the pre-release event of Brahma Anandam, where he was the chief guest.
During the event, the megastar expressed his desire for a grandson to continue his family legacy.
He mentioned that his home feels like a 'ladies' hostel,' as he is often surrounded by granddaughters. His son and actor Ram Charan Teja and wife Upasana are parents to a baby girl Klin Kaaran Koindela.
When asked about his grandchildren, Chiranjeevi remarked that his home feels like a 'ladies' hostel,' where he is the 'warden,' surrounded by girls and only one boy.
He revealed that he often asks his son, Ram Charan, to have a son next time in order to carry forward their 'family's legacy'.
He also mentioned that he is scared that his son Ram Charan will have another girl.
Chiranjeevi said: "When I'm at home, it doesn't feel like I'm surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around. I keep wishing and telling Charan (Ram), at least this time, have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye... I'm scared that he might again have a girl."
Chiranjeevi’s comment has led to a debate across social media platforms and maany are criticisng the legendary actor for his 'sexist' remarks.

While many have defended the actor, said his words were harmless and it should be seen as a lighthearted joke, others have expressed concerns, arguing that such remarks could unintentionally perpetuate gender stereotypes.
Chiranjeevi has two daughters, Sreeja Konidela and Sushmita Konidela. Sreeja is the mother of two daughters, Navishka and Nivrati, while Sushmita has been blessed with two daughters, Samara and Samhitha.
On the professional front, Chiranjeevi is set to appear next in the film Vishwambhara.
