Actor Medha Shankar, who won hearts with her role in 12th Fail, shared a moving note dedicated to her late mother. The emotional post struck a chord with her fans, as Medha opened up about memories, resilience, and the quiet strength she draws from her mom even today.
The letter began with a simple but powerful line: “Hi Maa, the brightest star in my sky.” From there, Medha unfolded her journey of trying to live by the values her mother had set, while acknowledging the struggles of walking in her footsteps. “Learning to be even a little like you hasn’t been easy, but I’m trying. Trying to take life as it comes, with its confusions, delays and mistakes, as well as its joy, beauty, and magic. Always striving to choose the right path, to turn every stumble into wisdom,” she wrote.
Medha’s note captured the universal experience of longing for a parent’s presence while finding comfort in the belief that they are still watching over us. She continued, “And while life keeps unfolding, I hope you’re watching. And that somewhere, what I do makes you proud, even if only a little.”
The most touching part of her post was when she shared an anecdote from a recent conversation with a relative. Medha revealed: “Yesterday, I spoke to a relative after so many years, and she said to me, ‘Noni, your picture in that saree makes you look exactly like your mom at my wedding decades ago. Noni, you look like exactly like your mom.’ With a big smile and a tiny tear, I replied, ‘Thank you. That’s my favorite compliment in the world, and one I don’t get to hear much anymore.’”

Calling it her most cherished compliment, Medha admitted that while she is still striving to match her mother’s joy, brilliance, humor, and resilience, she finds solace in at least resembling her. “I’m still striving to be as cool, joyful, hilarious, brilliant, talented, and resilient as you. But for now, I’ll take the win that at least I look like you, Maa. And honestly, that feels like the best kind of reminder.”
She ended her note with warmth and lightness, writing, “Have a fun day, Maa! It’s all good down here❤️”
Medha Shankar’s words not only offered a glimpse into her personal grief and love but also highlighted the deep imprint her mother left on her life. Fans flooded the comments with support, many sharing how the note reminded them of their own parents.
