Amid allegations of fraud, Telugu actor Mahesh Babu received a legal notice regarding his endorsement of real estate. Following a notice from Telangana's Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission about his endorsement of a controversial real estate firm, Tollywood star Mahesh Babu has found himself embroiled in legal issues.
The notification follows a complaint from a doctor in Hyderabad who claimed she was defrauded of Rs 34.8 lakh for fictitious land plots.
Mahesh Babu, the third respondent named in the complaint, is accused of misleading her and other investors into making investments by endorsing the real estate company. The company in question allegedly used the actor's reputation to win over customers by making false promises.
Mahesh Babu's connection to real estate promotions has previously come under fire. The actor was allegedly called in for interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in April 2025 about a money laundering probe involving the Surana Group and Sai Surya Developers.
Sources claim that the companies under investigation paid Mahesh Babu Rs 5.9 crore in endorsement fees.
The case raises concerns about the accountability of celebrities in brand endorsements, particularly in situations involving financial fraud or consumer grievances, despite the actor not having publicly responded to the most recent notice. The Consumer Commission is currently investigating the issue.
