Indian animation has just entered a new era of excellence. Mahavatar Narsimha, the mythological animated spectacle from Hombale Films and Kleem Productions, has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming India’s highest-grossing animated film of all time.
In just eight days since its release, the film has earned ₹60.5 crore at the Indian box office, setting a new benchmark in the genre and dethroning longstanding records previously held by popular Hollywood animations such as Spider-Man, The Incredibles, and Kung Fu Panda.
The film, which released in 3D and across five Indian languages on 25th July 2025, has captured the imagination of audiences across the country. With visually striking animation and a deeply spiritual narrative, Mahavatar Narsimha has taken fans on an immersive journey through India’s mythological past—reigniting cultural pride and spiritual connection.
Sharing the momentous achievement on social media, the makers wrote:

The film’s immense popularity has sparked widespread fan celebrations. Viewers have been spotted dressing up as Mahavatar Narsimha and staging impromptu festivities in cinema halls, underscoring the cultural impact of the film.
Directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under Kleem Productions, the film is presented by Hombale Films—the powerhouse behind major successes like KGF, Kantara, and Salaar. With Mahavatar Narsimha, Hombale launches its latest endeavour: the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe.

The franchise is set to unfold over the next decade with instalments based on Lord Vishnu’s avatars, including Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), and Mahavatar Kalki in two parts (2035 and 2037).
