JioHotstar is set to revolutionise the way India celebrates Mahashivratri with its innovative live-streaming event, 'Mahashivratri: The Divine Night,' offering an immersive, multi-location, multi-stream experience.
This first-of-its-kind event aims to bring the country's cultural and spiritual traditions surrounding Lord Shiva to millions of viewers, making them accessible from the comfort of their homes. After the massive success of streaming Coldplay's Music of the Spheres concert, JioHotstar is leveraging its storytelling and technology expertise to create an unforgettable Mahashivratri celebration.
The live-stream will feature over 20 aartis performed across India’s sacred Jyotirlinga temples in real-time, offering viewers an opportunity to witness these sacred rituals and understand their significance.
Additionally, JioHotstar has partnered with the Isha Foundation to stream their grand night-long rituals, including musical performances from a diverse range of artists. The live event will also feature meditations and teachings by Sadhguru, offering a holistic experience to all participants.
The spiritual event will be fronted by the renowned singer, composer, and lyricist Sona Mohapatra, who will lead musical tributes dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The Art of Living’s live meditations, guided by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, will also be streamed, allowing viewers to connect deeply with the spiritual essence of Mahashivratri.
As a special addition, JioHotstar will broadcast a three-hour episode of Devo Ke Dev… Mahadev, celebrating the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, providing an insight into the rich mythology and cultural significance of the occasion.
