Sivakarthikeyan and Rukmini Vasanth starrer action thriller Madharasi opened in the theatres with good numbers at the box office. AR Murugadoss' directorial film performed well at the box office during its first weekend. However, the film saw a steep decline on Monday.
According to a trade website, Madharasi earned Rs 4.15 crore net in India on its fourth day of release. The film’s total now stands at Rs 40.55 crore net in India. The action thriller registered 25.91% Tamil occupancy on Monday with 17.92% morning, 27.04% afternoon, 27.88% evening, and 30.78% night shows.
Madharasi opened in the theatres with a decent collection of Rs 13.65 crore net in India. The film continued the momentum and earned Rs 12.1 crore on the second day. The film earned Rs 10.65 crore net in India on its third day.
Despite the steep decline, the film gave tough competition to the Telugu-language action crime drama, Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty, which earned around Rs 0.58 crore on its fourth day.
Additionally, the film has surpassed the four-day collection of Tiger Shroff, Sanjay Dutt and Harnaaz Sandhu starrer Baaghi 4. The action thriller earned Rs 35.50 crore net in India in four days.
Madharasi is about an unsettled man who must find his footing in order to survive the crossfire between the police and the dangerous world of arms smuggling, following the disturbance caused by recent events.

The Tamil-language psychological action thriller also stars Vidyut Jammwal and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead roles. Madrasi was officially announced in September 2023 under the tentative title SK23 and then Dil Madrasi, as it is Sivakarthikeyan's 23rd film as a lead actor.
The official title was revealed in February 2025. Sri Lakshmi Movies produces the film and also features Biju Menon, Shabir, and Vikrant in supporting roles.
