Kajol led supernatural drama, Maa, is enjoying a decent run at the domestic box office and has officially crossed the Rs 20 crore mark. The film, which opened in the theatres with mixed reviews, recently registered a surge at the box office collection.
According to the trade website Sacnilk, Kajol’s Maa earned around Rs 2.85 crore Net in India on its fifth day. The film’s total collection now stands at Rs 23 crore. Maa had an overall 23.63% Hindi Occupancy on Tuesday, with 9.39% in morning shows, 23.41% in afternoon shows, 26.00% in evening shows and 35.73% night shows.
Maa is notably giving a strong competition to the pan-India film, Kannappa, as it has registered Rs 1.75 crore net in India on its fifth day for all languages.
Kajol starrer performed quite well on its four days as well. The film opened with a decent note and collected Rs 4.65 crore net in India. The film slowly witnessed a surge in its box office collection, and Rs 6 crore on day 2 and continued its momentum by adding Rs 7 crore net in India.

The recently released mythological horror also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma in the pivotal roles.
The film revolves around a mother, played by Kajol, and her daughter as they encounter a demon in a village where girls have been disappearing. Produced by Ajay Devgn under his home banner, the film is said to be the latest instalment in Devgn’s Shaitaan franchise.
