The teaser of Lord Curzon Ki Haveli has just dropped, and it instantly commands attention with its unusual blend of dark comedy and suspense. Slated for an all-India theatrical release on October 10, 2025, the film positions itself as one of the year’s most unconventional Bollywood offerings.

Produced by Golden Ratio Films and First Ray Films, and presented by Max Marketing Limited, the movie marks the directorial debut of actor Anshuman Jha. It’s also the first presentation by Max Marketing. With a cast led by Rasika Dugal, Arjun Mathur, Paresh Pahuja and Tanmay Dhanania, the film promises layered performances and a sharp narrative. Shot entirely in the English countryside, the film is crafted as a Hitchcockian thriller with a black comedy edge, making it India’s first mainstream single-lens theatrical release.

The teaser sets the mood with intrigue. A mysterious trunk sits at the center of attention, waiting to be opened. Paresh Pahuja leads the charge, setting a curious and tense tone, while Rasika Dugal and Arjun Mathur lighten it briefly with banter before the narrative spirals into chaos. Once the trunk is opened, the atmosphere shifts drastically—hinting at a spine-chilling, bloody turn that leaves viewers bracing for the worst. Anshuman Jha clearly channels Alfred Hitchcock’s suspense-driven storytelling, using a single-lens approach to lock audiences into the story’s claustrophobic intensity.

Beyond the teaser, Lord Curzon Ki Haveli carries an impressive festival track record. It had its world premiere at Melbourne and stood out as the only Indian title at Razor Reel Flanders, Europe’s biggest genre film festival. Jha even won the Best Director award at the UK Asian Film Festival in London in 2024, adding weight to the film’s global credibility.

Penned by award-winning writer Bikas Mishra, the film is not just a thriller—it’s a commentary on identity, community, and the Asian immigrant experience in the West. By mixing humour with history, suspense with satire, Lord Curzon Ki Haveli aims to break Bollywood’s mold and deliver something completely “out-of-the-box.”

The teaser is out now, and if it’s any indication, October 10 is going to bring a cinematic spectacle like no other.
