A recent social media post by Lollapalooza Argentina has sparked widespread backlash among K-pop fans, after it featured an image many believe was insensitive toward Manon of KATSEYE.
The controversy comes amid Manon’s ongoing hiatus, during which the group has been promoting as five members. Despite her absence, the remaining members reportedly acknowledged her during their appearance at the festival, a gesture that was appreciated by fans.

However, tensions escalated when the festival’s official social media account shared a photo of a young fan holding a poster. Netizens quickly noticed that Manon’s face on the poster had been crossed out. Many viewed this as upsetting, even if the alteration itself was not made by the festival.
While most fans were careful not to blame the child in the image, criticism was instead directed at the festival’s social media team for choosing to post the photo without considering its implications. For many, the issue was not the existence of the poster, but the decision to amplify it on an official platform.
Fans accused both the festival and management of being insensitive to Manon’s situation. One fan wrote, “katseye management approving pictures with manon’s face crossed out for official lollapalooza posts but lord forbid we say free her”. Another remarked, “There’s something truly vile about posting a poster where a member’s face is crossed out”.
As of now, neither Lollapalooza Argentina nor KATSEYE’s management has issued a statement addressing the controversy. Until further clarification emerges, the incident continues to fuel debate online.
