More than four months after the tragic death of One Direction's Liam Payne, new details have emerged from his toxicology report.
According to a press release issued on February 25 by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office, Payne’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at the time of his fatal fall from the hotel balcony in Argentina was found to be 0.27 percent.
This level of alcohol is significantly high and could have contributed to the confusion and impairment that led to the incident.
Additionally, toxicology tests revealed that Payne had traces of multiple substances in his system, including cocaine metabolites such as methylecgonine, benzoylecgomine, and cocaethylene, as well as the medication sertraline. These substances, combined with the high BAC, paint a concerning picture of Payne's state at the time of his fall.
The investigation also touched upon the involvement of Braian Paiz, who was reportedly responsible for providing Payne with drugs in exchange for money. Despite earlier claims that he had supplied the substances free of charge, the prosecution presented evidence supporting the claim that Paiz had been paid for the drugs.

Security footage further corroborated this, showing Payne arriving at the hotel early in the morning on 14th October and subsequently going down to reception to ask for money. The evidence was deemed sufficient to press charges against Paiz for his role in the tragic events.
This new information sheds light on the circumstances leading up to Liam Payne’s tragic passing, with the combination of drugs and alcohol likely playing a significant role in his fall. The investigation into the events continues, and further details are expected to emerge.
