Leading TV actress accuses co-star of molestation at Holi party; file police complaint

According to the 29-year-old actress, her 30-year-old male co-star was intoxicated and forcefully applied colors to her despite her objections.

A well-known TV actress has filed a complaint against her co-star, accusing him of molestation and harassment at a Holi party. The incident reportedly took place at a celebration organised by their entertainment channel on the terrace of the office building in Mumbai.

According to the 29-year-old actress, her 30-year-old male co-star was intoxicated and forcefully applied colors to her despite her objections. In her FIR, she stated that she tried to avoid him, even hiding behind a stall, but he followed her, forcibly applied colour to her.

After the incident, the actress confided in her friends, who confronted the accused, leading to a heated altercation. Following this, she decided to approach the police and lodge an official complaint.

“He was trying to put colours on me and other women in the party. I did not want to play Holi with him hence I objected and went away from him. I went and hid myself behind the panipuri stall at the terrace but he came after me and tried to put colour on me. I covered my face, but he forcefully grabbed me and put colour on my cheeks and then told me, ‘I love you and will see who saves you from me’. After this, he touched me inappropriately and put colour on me. I pushed him away. I was mentally shocked and went straight to the washroom,” she stated in her FIR.

The Mumbai police have booked the accused under Section 75(1)(i) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
