Bollywood actress Lara Dutta along with her daughter Saira are back in India after being stuck in Dubai amid the ongoing Middle East tensions.

Last week, the former Miss Universe had posted a video from her home in Dubai and expressed concern about her being stuck in the UAE with her daughter. Though she said they were safe in a villa but was constantly worried with the sounds of the blasts. She had also revealed during the video message that her husband and former tennis champion Mahesh Bhupathi was not with them as he was travelling for work.

Now Lara has safely landed in India along with her 14-year-old daughter, Saira.

In an interview with HT City, the actress said though she doesn't like putting up such videos but this time she was worried for her daughter's safety as well.

Lara called it a ‘dangerous journey back’ home that she took with Saira and said she was uncertain of what lay ahead. Since Dubai airport was being bombed, she drove two hours to another port and then began her journey home.

She also said that the residents were advised by the government to stay indoors amid rising tensions.

"We lived just about 10 kms away from the Jebel Ali Port, which was being bombed every day. So we decided to take a chance, as I wanted to be with my husband and my family. We drove two hours to Fujairah, and just a day earlier, Fujairah port and the oil refinery had been bombed. It was scary. I was joking with my co-star Akshay Kumar that I felt like I was part of Airlift 2," she told HT in an interview.

Lara and Mahesh have moved to Dubai so that their teenage daughter could train with a tennis coaching centre there.

Meanwhile, the UAE government has already put safety protocols in place and are making sure that stranded citizens were accommodated and provided with food.

The actress further revealed that they could hear bombs at the airport and prayed that 'nothing was struck'. "Hats off to the airlines, as well. I am very sure my daughter is going to have some amount of trauma after this experience," she further added.

The actress also expressed gratitude to the UAE government and said in the video that the authorities ensured that they did everything in their power to protect people.
