With Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, the recently released high-profile action drama Kuberaa is facing serious piracy threats.

The Sekhar Kammula-directed movie debuted in theaters on June 20, 2025, but a high-definition pirated version has now appeared online, endangering both its theatrical and digital audiences.

When Kuberaa first came out, it was soon the target of piracy, with subpar prints spreading on illicit websites. Producers and distributors are becoming increasingly concerned, though, as a near-HD version of the movie is now making the rounds online, according to M9 News.

The movie's earnings may be significantly impacted by this development, particularly as it nears its digital premiere and continues its theatrical run.

Amazon Prime Video has acquired Kuberaa's post-theatrical streaming rights. According to 123 Telugu, the movie's original release date was July 18, 2025.

Although the platform has not issued an official statement, there is considerable speculation that Prime Video may consider releasing the content earlier due to the recent piracy issue.

Kuberaa delves deeper into socio-economic issues despite being marketed as a mainstream action movie. The plot centres on a wealthy business magnate who uses a group of beggars and a disgraced former CBI officer as leverage to move up the economic scale. The neglected lives of the homeless, their everyday hardships, and society's indifference to their presence are all discussed in the movie.

Rashmika Mandanna, Dhanush, and Nagarjuna Akkineni play the main roles in the movie. Jim Sarbh, Sunaina Yella, Dalip Tahil, and Bagavathi Perumal are also featured. Sekhar Kammula, who co-wrote the script with Chaithanya Pingali, is the director.

Devi Sri Prasad composed the music, while Niketh Bommi handled the cinematography and Karthika Srinivas handled the editing. Suniel Narang, Sonali Narang, Ajay Kaikala, Manish Vasisht, and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao are the producers of Kuberaa.

It's unclear if Amazon Prime Video will choose to release Kuberaa early because box office receipts are still being threatened by piracy. Fans and moviegoers are currently awaiting the platform's formal confirmation of the streaming date. Meanwhile, the film is still being praised for its excellent performances and rich storytelling.
