Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters has achieved yet another milestone in what has already been a spectacular summer run. The animated sensation is now officially the streamer’s most-viewed movie of all time.
According to Netflix’s internal data, the film drew an additional 25.4 million views worldwide during the week of August 18–24, bringing its overall total to a staggering 236 million views since its premiere on June 20.
That was sufficient to propel KPop Demon Hunters over Red Notice to take the top spot in Netflix's all-time rankings for English-language films.
In the same week that the movie made waves at the box office with a special sing-along version, the streaming record was achieved. Although Netflix has not yet made its box office earnings public, industry estimates indicate that the film made between $17 and $18 million over the weekend of August 22–24, surpassing the $15.4 million earned by Weapons.
The film chronicles the exciting tale of the three-member K-pop girl group Huntrix, who secretly fight underworld monsters without anyone else knowing. The Saja Boys, a recently formed K-pop boy band composed of demons sent to destroy Huntrix and steal the souls of fans, present their greatest obstacle in the film.
KPop Demon Hunters has performed exceptionally well on Netflix. The movie has continuously attracted enormous audiences, never falling below 22.7 million weekly views in the ten weeks since its premiere, following a successful first weekend with 9.2 million views.
This consistency stands in stark contrast to the usual trajectory of Netflix original films, which typically drop out of the streamer’s Top 10 within a month.

KPop Demon Hunters has a popular soundtrack that has dominated the music charts, which further contributes to its cultural impact. The lead single from the movie, "Golden," recently returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, making history as Huntrix became the first girl group to reach the number one spot since Destiny's Child in 2001. Furthermore, three additional songs from the film are currently in the Top 10: "How It's Done" at No. 10, "Your Idol" at No. 4, and "Soda Pop" at No. 5.
With groundbreaking streaming numbers, a box office triumph, and a chart-topping soundtrack, KPop Demon Hunters has solidified itself as more than just a movie—it’s a global cultural phenomenon.
