Lee Yi Kyung landed in controversy

Korean actor Lee Yi Kyung, known for his role in Marry My Husband, recently landed in controversy after a social media user made shocking allegations against him.

The actor allegedly hit up a girl on social media and engaged in sexual conversations with her, according to a number of text messages that were made public.

After the girl uploaded an alleged text exchange which also makes reference to rape, she backed off her comment, calling it AI-generated.

The agency of Lee Yi Kyung then refuted the claim that the exchange was fraudulent. After apologising, the purported victim abruptly vanished from social media as well. They said in their apology that the photos were lies that had been artificially created.

According to Koreaboo, the victim released an official statement backing off from previous claims. The statement reads, “Hello, fellow Koreans. Some may know, but recently, I posted various photos regarding actor Lee Yi Kyung.”

It added, "I didn’t think that something that started as a joke would receive this much interest. But the more I kept posting and using AI photos, the more I started thinking that way.”

After that, she abruptly reopened the case on October 23, 2025. She claimed Lee Yi Kyung forced her to apologise through a Threads account.

The victim claimed in another social media post, “Hello. this is Jaeheejjang. Thank you for your interest in my blog. There are so many conversations left with Lee Yi Kyung that I was unable to screenshot. I don’t want to speak out without any proof, so I’m working hard to collect evidence. An article that claims I admitted to his company that it was all lies was already published.”

“It is true that I said that last time. But it was because Lee Yi Kyung threatened that he would report me if I didn’t so that. Let me say this again LOL. I’m definitely not doing this for money. I hope you all know that. I’m collecting evidence now, so please wait,” she added.
