Korean-British actress Clara has officially announced her divorce from her husband, Samuel Hwang, a Korean-American businessman two years older than her. The couple, who had been married for six years, separated in 2019.
On October 17, Clara’s agency, KHS Agency, issued an official statement confirming the news, saying, “Clara completed the mutual divorce process last August.”
According to Soompi, the agency’s full statement read, “[Clara’s] divorce by mutual consent was finalized this past August. This decision was made after careful discussion with her spouse over a long period of time.”
Expressing her feelings about the separation, Clara said, “I apologize for having to share this unfortunate news with the many people who supported us.” She added that she felt deeply sorry for causing concern among her fans and well-wishers.
The agency further explained, “Although the mutual consent divorce was finalized this past August, we delayed sharing the news out of respect for both families and to allow time for mutual understanding. We kindly ask for your understanding and continued support for Clara and her work as an actress.”
Following her marriage, Clara had been actively building her career in Greater China while often giving fans a glimpse of her glamorous lifestyle on social media.
