Baekho, the former main vocalist of NU’EST, has officially announced his military enlistment, marking a significant pause in his decade-long career. The 30-year-old singer will begin active-duty service on December 29, 2025, a decision he personally shared with fans during an early morning interaction on December 8.
Shortly after Baekho addressed supporters directly, his agency Prismfilter released a detailed statement confirming the enlistment and requesting fans to respect the privacy and logistics surrounding his departure for the Army Training Center.
"Hello, this is TEAM BAEKHO.
We would like to sincerely thank dOnO for always showing Baekho your love. We are providing information regarding Baekho’s military enlistment.
Baekho is scheduled to enter the Army Training Center on December 29, where he will undergo basic military training before fulfilling his duty as an active-duty Army soldier.
There will be no separate official event on the day of enlistment. Additionally, as the enlistment ceremony at the training center is a gathering attended by many soldiers and their families, we kindly ask that fans refrain from visiting the site. We would appreciate it if dOnO could leave messages for Baekho through Weverse instead.
We ask for dOnO’s warm encouragement and continued love until the day Baekho completes his military service and returns in good health. We, too, will continue to offer our unwavering support and affection for Baekho.
Thank you."

The announcement has triggered an emotional response from fans who have followed Baekho since his 2012 debut under Pledis Entertainment. As a member of NU’EST, Baekho contributed to some of the group’s most beloved hits, including FACE, Not Over You, Hello, and Sleep Talking. His powerful vocals and stage presence earned him a dedicated fanbase both domestically and internationally.
NU’EST’s trajectory shifted in 2017 when group activities were temporarily halted, leading Baekho to participate in Mnet’s massively popular survival program Produce 101 Season 2. The exposure helped reignite public interest in the group, and he later promoted as part of the subunit NU’EST W while simultaneously expanding his solo activities.
In March 2025, after 13 years with Pledis Entertainment, Baekho officially parted ways with the company and signed with the newly established Prismfilter.
As Baekho prepares for his mandatory service, fans have begun sending messages of support through Weverse, honouring his request and reflecting the steadfast loyalty he has earned over the years.
