BTS fans upset over alleged coordinated smear campaigns directed at Jungkook

What started with misplaced vocal criticism of BTS members V, Jimin and Jin, quickly escalated into a coordinated hate-smear campaign aimed at the group’s maknae, Jungkook. On social platforms and fan forums, thousands of supporters have raised the battle-cry #FreeJungkook as they allege a wave of anonymous accounts systematically targeting the K-pop star.

During Jin’s solo world tour encore, Jungkook and J‑Hope made surprise stage appearances. While performing the group track Spring Day, fans noted a lyric timing slip by V and there were comments about Jimin’s high notes and Jin’s vocal delivery.

Following this, fans were concerned when several posts alleged that certain online users had whipped up negative commentary about Jungkook in the same thread. According to reports, fans pointed to “temporarily created accounts” as a common pattern among the criticism.

One fan tweeted, “Free Jungkook from those weirdos…” and another added: “antis are literally making burner accounts just to hate on Jungkook … they’re so desperate to see him get dragged.”

“this is clearly coming from a place of bitterness and jealousy … the pattern I’ve noticed is that no matter what Jungkook does, a specific group of accounts … consistently target him to start a hate train,” read another tweet.

Fans rallied in huge numbers to defend Jungkook’s reputation. One user wrote, “antis need to understand that forcing a hate train on Jungkook isn’t gonna affect his career … look at the outcome – he’s become even more successful.”

Meanwhile, at the concert, V was visibly overwhelmed by the sight of cheering fans. As Jin embraced him warmly, V couldn’t hold back his emotions. When Jin asked why he was crying, V confessed, “I really missed this scenery… Seriously, the seven of us, I think I imagined that moment, I didn't want to imagine it, but I ended up doing that, I imagine us being together, and thinking of this view, all of a sudden, I just felt overwhelmed.”
