2025 MAMA Awards: Saja Boys collaboration officially CANCELLED after event scales down amid Hong Kong tragedy

The 2025 MAMA Awards faced another major shake-up on November 29, as organisers officially canceled one of the event’s most anticipated stages — the special Saja Boys collaboration performance scheduled for Day 2. The decision follows the devastating Hong Kong fire that has already forced multiple changes to the ceremony, including the cancellation of the red carpet and significant scaling down of programming.

As per Soompi, KOZ Entertainment confirmed the news early in the day, stating, “Due to the scaling down of the 2025 MAMA Awards, [BOYNEXTDOOR] will no longer be participating in the performance that was scheduled for today. We ask for fans’ generous understanding.”

Shortly after, PLEDIS Entertainment issued its own statement, adding, “[TWS] will not be participating in the performance that was scheduled for today.”

Both BOYNEXTDOOR and TWS were present for Day 1 of the awards on November 28, making their sudden withdrawal from the second night even more notable.

The two companies’ announcements confirmed what many fans had suspected: the cancellation of the highly anticipated “KPop Demon Hunters” stage featuring Saja Boys’ hit track “Your Idol.” This special collaboration had generated buzz for weeks, as it brought together some of the most charismatic rookies and rising stars in the industry.

The now-scrapped lineup included Leehan (BOYNEXTDOOR), Wonbin (RIIZE), Shinyu (TWS), Park Gun Wook (ZEROBASEONE), Han Yu Jin (ZEROBASEONE).

With five standout idols from some of the fastest-growing boy groups, fans had been eager to see the synergy and performance style they would bring to the stage. Many expressed disappointment online, but also acknowledged that safety and respect remain the priority in light of the tragic circumstances.
