Kingdom Twitter Review: Netizens praise action, music and Nani's cameo in Vijay Deverakonda’s film, share disappointment over story and performances

Vijay Deverakonda’s much-hyped film Kingdom hit the screens and Twitter is already flooded with reactions. The hashtag #KingdomReview is trending, and the early verdict is a rollercoaster—ranging from blockbuster proclamations to brutal takedowns.

The Highs: Mass Elevations, BGM Beast Mode & VD’s Comeback

A chunk of the audience is already declaring Kingdom a “Blockbuster Bomma.” The first half, according to user @KingDomBookings, is a “1st Half Blockbuster” with interval scenes peaking hard thanks to Anirudh’s BGM. Another fan, @AjayGowda, echoes the sentiment saying, “Hit vibes already… motha moginchadame inka.”

Patil Vishwajit gives the film a 4-star rating, calling it a “Mental Mass Movie” with a “superb storyline” and praising Vijay Deverakonda for a “Mass Comeback.” Anirudh’s background score seems to be one of the most consistent highlights, getting repeated mentions as “mind-blowing” and “outstanding” across tweets.

The second half also seems to pack a punch. @vamsireddi_07 rates the premiere 4/5 and highlights a “boat scene” in the second half as a major high point. South Digital Media calls Kingdom a “Masterpiece of Indian Cinema,” and even adds that Vijay Deverakonda is now a “New PowerStar.” High praise.

The Mid-Zone: Decent But Dragged

Not all are calling it a masterpiece. Simhaaaa (@vijaysrc3) offers a more balanced take, saying the first half is “decent with emotions” but also a “slow poison.” So, while it isn’t boring, it’s not exactly electric either. A few others feel the same way—acknowledging moments of emotional depth but waiting for the second half to truly kick in.

Nani's Cameo

Another user revealed that Nani is playing the cameo role in the Kingdom.

The Lows: Dragged Screenplay, Predictable Plot, Flat Emotions

And now, the punches.

Vihaan (@TheRealPKFan) goes for the jugular, rating the first half 0.5 out of 5 and calling it “dragged to the core.” He slams it for “recycled mass elevations” and “pointless emotions” with the BGM “trying hard to cover the hollow scenes.”

Another tweet from Pratyusha (@PratyushaJSP2) calls the first half “boring” and says the film runs flat with a “predictable storyline without emotions.” She’s especially critical of Vijay Deverakonda’s performance, calling it a “cringe fest” and even suggesting a dubbing artist be used for his lines.

It’s a 50-50 split. The fans who came for Vijay Deverakonda’s swagger and Anirudh’s music are leaving pumped. They love the elevation scenes, the massy moments, and the emotional highs in parts. But those expecting a tight script, layered performances, and freshness? They’re not buying the hype.

The first half seems to be the weaker link for most. If the second half delivers on the teased high points—like the boat scene—Kingdom might still win over the skeptics. If not, it’ll join the long list of overhyped mass films that couldn’t cross the finish line.

For now, the Kingdom is divided.
