Vijay Devarakonda’s latest action-packed drama Kingdom may have opened to an impressive start, but its momentum appears to be slowing as the days progress.

The film, which hit theatres last Thursday, garnered a robust ₹18 crore on its opening day across all languages—Telugu leading the charge with ₹17.25 crore and Tamil contributing ₹0.75 crore.

Despite this strong debut, Kingdom saw a noticeable dip in collections on its second day, earning ₹7.5 crore, marking a 58.33% drop. However, the weekend brought a mild revival: Saturday saw ₹8 crore, while Sunday managed ₹7.4 crore. By the end of its first weekend, the film had raked in ₹40.5 crore.

However, the start of the weekdays has presented fresh challenges. On its first Monday, the film’s collections dwindled to just ₹2.25 crore, according to early estimates, taking the total five-day tally to ₹43.15 crore. Region-wise, the Telugu version continues to dominate the earnings, while the Tamil release adds marginally to the total.

Show occupancy trends mirrored this pattern. Monday's figures reveal that morning shows recorded 13.67% occupancy, afternoon shows rose slightly to 17.69%, evening shows dipped again to 15.71%, while night shows performed best with 18.44%.

Directed by a promising filmmaker, Kingdom narrates the compelling tale of Suri, a police constable-turned-spy played by Vijay Devarakonda. Tasked with a covert operation in Sri Lanka by the Indian government, Suri is also on a deeply personal mission to locate his long-lost brother, Siva—portrayed by Satyadev. Bhagyashri Borse plays Suri’s romantic interest, adding an emotional layer to the gritty espionage thriller.

The film’s release has stirred enough buzz that the makers have already hinted at a potential sequel, riding on the popularity of its characters and setting.

Whether Kingdom will sustain its run at the box office in the coming days remains to be seen, but the early response, particularly from Telugu-speaking regions, shows the star’s loyal fanbase is still invested.
