Kapil Sharma vulgur joke on parents goes viral

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s recent comment on India’s Got Latent, an old remark by Kapil Sharma has resurfaced on social media, shocking many. The joke dates back to Kapil's Comedy Nights with Kapil days, where he humorously talked about two things that Indians hold dear—cricket and films.

The resurfacing of this comment has sparked a new wave of debate, with many questioning the limits of humour and what can be deemed acceptable in the entertainment industry. As public opinion continues to polarise, the incident has brought attention to how past jokes, often considered light-hearted at the time, are being revisited and scrutinised in today’s more sensitive cultural climate.

The controversy sparked by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial remark about parents on Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent has rapidly escalated. As the furor continues, an old joke by Kapil Sharma referencing "Maa baap ki kabaddi" has resurfaced and is quickly going viral, further adding fuel to the ongoing debate over the boundaries of comedy and the responsibility of content creators.

The incident has led to intense discussions about what constitutes acceptable humour, with many calling for a reevaluation of what should be considered off-limits for comedic expression.

While talking about cricket, Kapil Sharma pointed out how children are willing to wake up as early as 4 am to watch a match, something they would never do for their studies. He even added that some youngsters go as far as waking up at 2 am for the game.

He said, "Cricket ka match shuru hona that 4 baje, aur phir yeh maa baa ki kabaddi dekh ke so jaate hai (the match is to start from 4 am, so they watch their parents' kabaddi and sleep).

In reaction to this, one comment read, "Samay is fan of Kapil waise bhi. Both have impeccable timing," another read, "Kapil is witty and smart. Kabaddi could very well mean a fight between the parents. Kapil cracked a joke and left it to the audience's interpretation. Ranveer capitalised, enunciated and underlined a bad joke in the name of dank comedy , just to project that he's cool."

In the original video, which can be found on SET India's channel, Kapil attempted to explain his statement, saying, “What I meant was that parents are often arguing with each other.”

RANVEER ALLAHBADIA CONTROVERSY

This Controversy began after people were offended by Allahbadia's  comment when he asked a contestant in India's Got Latent, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?"

The internet swiftly condemned Allahbadia for his inappropriate and distasteful remark. Despite the YouTuber issuing a prompt apology, the harm was already done, and the backlash continued to escalate.

The comment sparked outrage from various quarters, with many calling for accountability and a reevaluation of what is considered acceptable humour, especially in public platforms.
