The teaser for Kannappa is finally out, and it has generated significant excitement for the upcoming pan-Indian film. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, alongside an impressive ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohan Babu, and Mohanlal, all playing pivotal roles.

Kannappa is set to bring the legendary story of Thinnadu—an indomitable warrior who transforms into a devoted follower of Lord Shiva—alive on the big screen. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 25, 2025.

Ahead of the release, the filmmakers dropped a highly anticipated teaser that offers a glimpse into the characters and story. Vishnu Manchu shared the teaser on his social media, giving fans a first look at the epic tale that follows Kannappa’s journey from a fearless warrior to a devoted Shiva worshipper.

The 1-minute and 24-second teaser effectively sets the tone for the film, showcasing Kannappa’s fierce determination to protect his tribe from a neighbouring warring community.

Akshay Kumar appears in the teaser as a divine Lord Shiva, while Mohanlal takes on the role of Kirata, adding a layer of mysticism to the film. Prabhas, who makes a grand entrance as Rudra, adds to the film’s allure, with his powerful cameo stirring great anticipation. Kajal Aggarwal will also feature as Goddess Parvati, bringing another celestial dimension to the film. Vishnu Manchu, portraying Kannappa, exudes bravery, strength, and a sense of valour in his performance, anchoring the narrative of the warrior-turned-devotee.

The teaser builds to a thrilling crescendo, giving viewers a brief yet impactful appearance of Prabhas as Rudra, amplified by a high-tempo background score that heightens the sense of anticipation for the film’s release.

Vishnu Manchu captioned the teaser release on social media, stating, “A journey from warrior to immortal devotee! The legend of #Kannappa begins – Teaser-2 out now!”

In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Vishnu Manchu shared an intriguing revelation about Prabhas and Mohanlal’s involvement in the film. He revealed that both stars had agreed to appear in cameo roles without expecting any remuneration. Their decision, Vishnu explained, was driven by their respect and affection for his father, Mohan Babu, underscoring the deep bonds of friendship and admiration in the industry.
