Kamal Haasan mourns the loss of his friend Bharathiraja's son Manoj Bharathiraja

Southern superstar Kamal Haasan is in shock as his close friend and filmmaker Bharathiraja lost his young son Manoj on Tuesday. Bharathiraja's son Manoj died of a heart attack at the young age of 48.

The entire industry is in shock, and Kamal Haasan also extended his condolences to his friend Bharathiraja.

Manoj passed away at his residence in Chennai after suffering a massive heart attack at around 4 pm on Tuesday (March 25).

Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was also in shock and offered condolences to Bharathiraja.

Kamal Haasan took to his X handle, and he posted in Tamil, which is translated as, "I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of the passing of Manoj Bharathiraja, son of actor, my friend, and dearest director Bharathiraja. I express my deepest condolences to Bharathiraja, his family, and friends, who are grieving the loss of him."

Pawan Kalyan issued a press note, and it mentioned, "I convey my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of Mr. Bharathiraja. I was shocked to hear the sudden news of the demise of Mr. Manoj Bharathiraja, son of the renowned director Mr. Bharathiraja. I pray to the Almighty for the soul of Mr. Manoj to rest in peace."

"While he was excelling as an actor, following his father's footsteps as a director, the news that he had passed away due to a heart attack deeply affects my heart. I extend my condolences and profound sympathy to the family of Mr. Bharathiraja. I pray to the Almighty to grant strength to Mr. Bharathiraja, who is grieving the loss of his son," he ended his note.

Like his dad, Manoj Bharathiraja was also an actor, director, and producer. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Manoj's body is kept at his father Bharathiraja's residence in Chennai for friends and the public to pay their respects. His last rites will take place at 4.30 pm in Chennai today.
