In a recent interview, renowned Tamil actor Kamal Haasan elaborated on his professional association with colleague Rajinikanth, including the potential for future on-screen collaborations.

Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, two iconic figures in the Tamil film industry, have shared the screen in numerous memorable films, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances. Their on-screen chemistry has been undeniable, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of countless fans.

Talking about their future collaborations, Kamal Haasan said, “It’s not a new combination. We have done many films together. Then we decided not to work together. We are not like two competitors. We had the same mentor (Tamil filmmaker K Balachander). Unlike any other place, the competition is there, openly. But there’s no envy and it’s two different paths,” he said. “We also never make snide remarks about each other. We made this call when we were in our 20s; it’s not that we became older and wiser now," as per his statement to the Indian Express.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, they continued to grace the silver screen together, starring in films like "16 Vayathinile," "Aval Appadithan," "Thillu Mullu," "Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu," and "Ninaithale Inikkum."

Their last on-screen appearance together was in the 1985 Hindi film "Geraftaar," alongside the equally celebrated Amitabh Bachchan. This marked the end of an era, as they decided to focus on their individual careers.

Despite not sharing the screen in recent years, their mutual respect and admiration for each other have remained strong. They have often expressed their appreciation for each other's contributions to Tamil cinema and continue to be regarded as two of the greatest actors in the industry.
