Actress Jyotika is in the news for all the wrong reasons right now. She is currently making waves in Bollywood with movies like Shaitaan and Dabba Cartel. A comment she made a long time ago during a press conference for Shaitaan has come back to life, and many on the internet are very angry about it.
The comment that came backJyotika said at the event back then, "I have worked with almost all of South India's top actors. But women aren't really important there, not even on posters. People like Mammootty and Ajay Devgn make women stand out."
Even though, she said it almost a year ago, many netizens on social media are suddenly bringing it up again and saying that the actress is unjust to South Indian movies.
People on the internet respondOne person on X (previously Twitter) posted a collage of Tamil film posters with Jyotika as the main character. They said, "Acted in Kollywood, made her salary, married Suriya, and now lives peacefully in the South, where people love this couple. It's fine to compliment your coworkers there, but don't compare and talk evil about the South. You're such a chameleon low-life, #Jyothika."

Someone else wrote: "Jyothika is a pathetic chameleon." Chandramukhi had her in all the posters. Mozhi later too. She and Suriya will do anything to get famous. Another snarky comment said, "Appo ithellam yaar? (Who is in all of these then?)"
Jyotika's most recent workEven though there is a lot of talk about it, Jyotika is still very popular on OTT. Recently, she featured in Netflix's Dabba Cartel, a seven-episode drama about five middle-class women whose dabba (lunchbox) service transforms into a drug-running business. The show, which stars Jyotika, Shabana Azmi, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, and Anjali Anand, first aired on February 28, 2025.
The next Bollywood movie the Shaitaan actress will be in will be with director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
