Oscar-winning musician Jon Batiste is going to make his much-awaited debut in India later this year. The 38-year-old composer and performer will be kicking off his Maestro Series tour across India, including two shows in Delhi and Mumbai.
On Monday, Batiste made the announcement directly on Instagram, sharing a visually arresting poster that included the official dates. He is scheduled to make his stage debut in Delhi on November 24 at the esteemed Plenary Hall of the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre.
Produced by BookMyShow, the concert is much awaited as this will be the first time ever that Jon Batiste will be performing in India.
He will perform in Mumbai just two days later, on November 26. Even though the Mumbai concert's location hasn't been announced yet, excitement is already building. Fans will have an early opportunity to reserve their seats for both performances when ticket pre-sales begin on Wednesday.
In his post, Batiste wrote, “The Maestro Series continues! I’m excited to announce that I will be playing in The Middle East and India for the first time this Fall! Tickets are on sale this Friday! For early access, click the link in bio for my exclusive pre-sale starting this Wednesday.”
His remarks convey the thrill of introducing his music to new listeners, particularly in India, where this will be his first tour.
Some of the highest accolades in music and film have been bestowed upon Batiste throughout his career. He received five Grammy nominations for his 2023 album World Music Radio, including the coveted Album of the Year award. Additionally, he was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Grammy for his poignant song It Never Went Away, which was written for the Netflix documentary American Symphony.

Batiste previously made history by winning an Academy Award for his work on the soundtrack to Pixar's Soul. In addition to his accolades, he made a lasting impression during his seven prosperous years as the bandleader and musical director of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
After wrapping up his India concerts, Batiste will continue his global tour with a performance scheduled in Kuwait on November 29.
