Jana Nayagan latest development

Actor Vijay is currently filming his last movie Jana Nayagan before he completely takes the political plunge. Helmed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film is expected to be a powerful mix of political satire and social thriller — and is now in the news for a very different reason.

Vijay Already, sources revealed that Vijay seems to have been planning a Bollywood movie that would be like Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari. Curiously, Anil Ravipudi too confirmed a remake but it was not officially confirmed regarding its production. But now a crucial detail about Jana Nayagan has been doing rounds on the internet that Jana Nayagan is not a remake but it will have a major episode inspired by Bhagavanth Kesari.

The Episode That Moved Vijay

“Vijay was very much impressed with the relevant handling of emotions in the “Good Touch Bad Touch” scene from the Bhagavanth Kesari movie featuring Balakrishna along with Sreeleela, this particular emotional episode is based on child abuse and consent, where the whole story is sensitively narrated. Vijay thought the message was something that needed to reach many and it would be apt to follow as a social message of Jana Nayagan.

To be able to legally include the scene, he demanded that the makers buy the official remake rights of Bhagavanth Kesari — not for a full remake, but just that one emotional scene. The producers obliged, and the alleged deal was struck at Rs 4.5 crore.

Deal Closed With Bhagavanth Kesari Producer

The rights of Bhagavanth Kesari have been converted in a deal sealed by its producer Sahu Garapati and KVN Productions. This bold decision, however, is now justified as Jana Nayagan is not a remake but instead a homage to an important section of Bhagavanth Kesari that struck a chord with Vijay and much of that is in sync with what the film is trying to convey.

Final Film Before Politics

Jana Nayagan is being touted as a powerful last film for Vijay before he takes a complete plunge in politics. The movie is likely to be released for Sankranthi 2026 and there are already high hopes on it, as everyone is excited to see how a poignant message from Bhagavanth Kesari would be treated in Tamil social drama?

This move also indicates Vijay’s wish to leverage cinema to lend his voice to social narratives — in his last film as well — and it suggests that his jump to public service could have been long in the making.
