In the midst of the increasing anticipation for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming big-screen film, King, there have been rumours that the superstar may collaborate with the well-known South Indian production company Mythri Movie Makers on a future project that will be helmed by Pushpa director Sukumar.
Naturally, the news sent fans into a frenzy, with many hoping to see SRK collaborate with the people who made one of the biggest pan-India hits in the South.
But a recent report by Pinkvilla claims that those rumours are untrue. Shah Rukh Khan and the Mythri team have not met, according to a source close to the actor, who has categorically denied any such developments.
“Shah Rukh Khan is presently focusing and putting all his energies on King. He will take a call on his next after King by the end of this year. He has not done any meeting with Mythri, so the matter of greenlighting a script doesn’t even come into the picture,” the source told Pinkvilla.
The source further revealed that Khan will be occupied with the shoot of King—helmed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand—until the first quarter of 2026. Only after wrapping up this project will he seriously consider future scripts. “There are multiple scripts, multiple films that have been offered, and SRK will take a call on his next towards the end of 2025. Interestingly, none of them are by Mythri,” the source added.
Fans' optimism is understandable, even though the Mythri collaboration was only a rumour. Shah Rukh's prior partnership with South filmmaker Atlee on Jawan was a huge commercial and critical success, reinforcing his popularity throughout the Indian film industry.
King is still the main attraction on SRK's schedule as of right now, and although many renowned directors are undoubtedly keen to collaborate with him, no formal announcements will be made until the end of the year.
