This year, the Best Actor award was shared between Shah Rukh Khan for Jawan and Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Vikrant’s performance has been praised on a wider level for its sincerity and depth, while Rani Mukerji picked up the Best Actress award for her powerful portrayal in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.

Cheering Shah Rukh on from afar, Gauri Khan marked the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram post. Sharing a stylish picture of her husband, she wrote: “What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! So deserving… it’s a result of your years of hard work and dedication. Now I’m designing a special mantle for this award.”
There was a small twist in the awards tradition too. Typically, the Best Actor winner receives a medal, certificate, and ₹2 lakh cash prize. But since the honour was shared this year, Shah Rukh and Vikrant will each receive their own medals and certificates, while the prize money is split equally — ₹1 lakh each. Rani Mukerji, however, as the sole Best Actress recipient, takes home the full ₹2 lakh along with her award.
