Now between all this, Captain Devi Sharan, who was the pilot of the hijacked flight IC 814, has talked about two incidents that have been shown in the series but didn't happen the same way in reality.
In the series it is shown that the flight's Captain played by Vijay Varma, goes down to the plane's holder where the baggages are - in order to unclog the lines so that toilets can start working. He also gets a salute from the Indian Foreign Minister when they are released later.
Devi Sharan told The Telegraph, “I did not fix the plumbing lines myself. They (Taliban authorities) sent a worker. I took him down into the aircraft hold as he would not know where the lines were."
Further talking about the scene that showed the foreign minister saluting (Pankaj Kapur played the role of Jaswant Singh), he said, “(Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh) made a gesture that showed appreciation of our efforts.”

The series IC 814 is based on the hijack of India-bound flight in December 1999 which took off from Kathmandu and was headed to New Delhi but it was hijacked the moment it went air bound.
The hijackers demanded the release of three high-profile militants: Maulana Masood Azhar, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, and Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar. The negotiations resulted in the release of the three militants in exchange for the release of the hostages. One person was killed by the hijackers.
IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack has been embroiled in controversy with many calling for an immediate ban on the series.
The series is directed by Anubhav Sinha.
