Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut with Nandaaniyan.

Bollywood actor Ibrahim Ali Khan, who recently made his debut with Nadaaniyan on Netflix, spoke about the criticism he received post his first movie and also how Priyanka Chopra texted him, urging him to be 'thick-skinned.'

In an interview with GQ India, Ibrahim spoke up for the first time about life post the film and online criticism he received following the film's release. Ibrahim is the elder son of Saif Ali Khan and ex-wife Amrita Singh.

Ibrahim also spoke about the advice he received from his famous father prior to the release of his debut movie. He said, “From two people. My dad said this is not the year 2000, when a star can just walk around in a movie and it can be a blockbuster. Today you must be very prepared and be a quick learner. Most importantly, he said, The script and the filmmaker are two things you cannot compromise on."

Then he spoke about the special text message he received from Priyanka Chopra, who wrote, "The second one was from Priyanka Chopra. She sent me a very sweet message saying she watched the film and thinks I have a bright future. She said I have to hold my head high and keep grinding and that I must grow a thick skin. Coming from someone as accomplished as she is, I felt really comforted and motivated."

During the interview, Ibrahim also spoke about the nepotism debate and said he didn't 'expect it to be so harsh.'

"I was hoping to join the movies sooner. I realized that the tide was turning when Sara, Janhvi [Kapoor] and Ananya [Panday] were starting out. Technically speaking, nepotism has been around forever, but these girls became targets. I realized that anyone from a film background looking to debut as an actor from then on was going to face backlash, no matter how good they may be. I was prepared for it but didn’t expect it to be so harsh," he said in the interview.

Ibrahim Ali Khan will be next seen in Diler, a sports drama where he will be seen opposite Telugu actress Sreeleela.

He has also worked in Sarzameen with Kajol, directed by Kayoze Irani.
