K-pop boyband BTS ARMY have been eagerly waiting for the members to complete their mandatory military service and make a comeback. However, HYBE CEO Lee Jae Sang has recently disappointed fans with the latest update on BTS’ reunion.
During a press conference in Seoul's Mapo-gu district on March 31, Lee Jae Sang addressed the highly anticipated reunion of BTS. The agency noted that the band’s reunion and production of new music will require additional time.
According to Koreaboo, Lee Jae Sang said, "The BTS members are set to complete their military service by the end of the first half of this year, and they will need time for preparation and production before resuming activities."
He added, "The company is also preparing by discussing with top-tier composers, but the artists (BTS members) themselves need time for deliberation and preparation."
HYBE's CEO further noted that BTS' comeback involves more than just releasing new music. He explained that it involves planning and coordination with a thoughtful and strategic approach.
He told the media, “Typically, the process involves working on songs, releasing an album, and then going on tour. However, since BTS has already risen to the level of global top artists, they are continuously discussing their vision and their ‘next’ phase. It is necessary to consider and align with this direction carefully.”
For the unversed, BTS members Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are still serving in the military. They are scheduled to be discharged by June 2025.
The BTS members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, took a hiatus in June 2022. During this time, they worked on solo projects and served in the military.
