Akshay Kumar returns to the comedy drama Housefull 5, which recently hit the theatres. The film notably features a series of star cast but seemingly failed to impress the audience.
The advance box office collection saw decent collection with the morning theatre's occupancy failing to beat Raid 2 and Chhaava records.
According to Sacnilk, Housefull 5 started with a morning occupancy of 13.62% in India, which includes both formats, Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B. Although the numbers are decent, the film hasn't matched the popularity of bigger Bollywood releases like Chhaava, Raid 2, and Sikandar, and even trailed behind Badass Ravi Kumar.
While Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava debuted in the theatres with 30.5% morning occupancy, becoming the best Bollywood film of 2025 so far, Raid 2 followed the trend and opened with 21.23%, followed by Badass Ravi Kumar with 13.9%
Sikandar with 13.76% morning occupancy.
Surprisingly, the most-awaited instalment in the Housefull franchise saw almost 55% lower admissions and bagged the top 5 spot among the top 10 list.
Housefull 5’s opening day morning occupancy notably left behind Kesari Chapter 2 (12.67%), Fateh (10.6%), Sky Force (10.26%), Game Changer (9.10%) and Emergency (5.98%).
The film is expected to witness a surge at the box office during its first weekend.
Meanwhile, Housefull 5 also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Nana Patekar, Johnny Lever, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Jackie Shroff, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh and Sonam Bajwa, among others, in the lead roles.
The murder mystery comedy revolves around several imposters claiming to be the son of a recently deceased billionaire who compete for his fortune aboard a luxury cruise ship.
